What is the best over-all AntiVirus software to use?

It does not have to be free, but ranging loosley from 0-$60. I need a software for multi users and is not gimmicky. I've read both good and bad reviews on McAfee and Norton software, and am thinking of purchasing a Webroot brand program. Is this a wise choice? What do I need to know about upgrades and such? What software are most people on?

I suggest you not use the Webroot AV, as it is definitly not as good as their Anti-Spyware. Although, it is effective if you want a cheaper %26 easier solution.

Would I consider it wise? I'd say No, because when choosing an antiVirus Program, you want top-knotch detection %26 protection rates. Yet, as minimal decrease in system performance as possible.

The best, but system-decreasing (depending on how good your PC is) are most likely the following:

1.Norton 360/Norton 2008 Products

2..McAfee Total Protection

3. BitDefender v11 2008

The Best, with a smaller system-decrease in performance would be:

1. Kaspersky- All Solutions

2. Avira AntiVir Solutions

3. Eset Nod32

The Mediocre:

-Windows LiveOne Care

-AVG

etc. etc.

Note: Some Good Freeware, such as Avast! Home Edition was not posted because, I am mostly focusing on Paid Software, as they tend to be better.
