is there a web site that has a free virus scanner? I have avira antivirus and it doesn't work that good.

Avira has pretty good detection rates, among the best, in fact. Prone to false-positives though.

Do a double-check with these free on-line scanners:

Avria has the highest virus detection rate of any of the 3 popular free anti-virus programs (Avria, AVG, Avast), by far. Are you sure that you don't have a spyware or an adware and not a virus?

You need to use both an anti-virus and an anti-spyware for complete protection.
