Is this a good deal for a used laptop?

This is the ad, don't know much about laptops but cannot afford a new one. I realize I will most definately have to upgrade the hard drive. 100 bucks will get me an 80gb upgrade.

Dell Latitude D600

250.00

Here are the specs:

Pentium M 1.3 GHz

1gb RAM

20gb hard drive

DVD reader / CD burner combo

Onboard gigabit ethernet

56k modem

ATI Radeon 9000 32mb dedicated video

Intel a/b/g wifi

14.1'' screen

Includes: Windows XP Pro SP2

Office 2003

Nero 7

WinDVD 6

AVG 7.5 antivirus

Guaranteed against DOA. Feel free to try it out before you buy. Will throw in an extra 3 hour charger if you pay full price.

That's reasonable for $250. I would not get the bigger hard drive for an extra $100; you could buy a hard drive yourself and rebuild it for less. Make sure you get an XP CD with the purchase.

Not bad at all. Try and swindle it for like $175. Dont need the extra charger or battery. The 80gb hard drive is nice to have, will it be already installed though? If not then not worth buying it from them. Plus you can get them cheaper at a used electronic store. I would just re-format the labtop when you get it though and start it fresh. You would lose all those programs he has on it but you can redownload them from www.download.com for free anyway. Good luck
That sounds like a good deal to me try to get them down a little, like 200 bucks
well that's a good deal. but like they say you pay for what you get.
Well, it should work for simple tasks like surfing the 'net, and word processing, but it won't do any games or anything.

It is an alright deal. You might want to check on e-bay and see what laptops on there go for. I'm not up-to-date on current used laptop prices.

And yes, you will need to upgrade the hard drive. Check out www.newegg.com and you can get a much better deal than that for a HDD.
